Jacques BROCHET

Chief Science and Technology Officer

 

Jacques Brochet was named SAFRAN Chief Science & Technology Officer, in November 2014.

His main missions are to:

  • Guarantee the pertinence of Safran R&T plan
  • Co-define the R&T policy of Safran Tech R&T Corporate Center, with its Director
  • Carry out Group-wide missions with significant Science & Technology content, such as "Digital Continuity”


A graduate of the Ecole Centrale de Paris Engineering School, Jacques Brochet started his career with French Aerospace Research Center ONERA, creating 3D Computational Fluid Dynamics codes for nozzle, fan blade, propeller, aircraft wing and missile applications.

He joined the Group in 1982. He held different positions in SNECMA's Engineering Division, contributing to the design of CFM56, GE90 and M88 aircraft engines and to the development of powerplant integration activities.

Then he served as TURBOMECA Executive Vice President Engineering and R&T from 2002 to 2013.

He has been awarded the Zimmerman International Prize and the Aeronautics Medal.

He is an Associate Member of the French Academy of Air and Space.
